Magnetism by Ahmed Mater realized a price of $120,000, braking the artist’s record at auction. This sale marked the launch of our 14 month cultural call-to-action to support a global COVID-19 response through the arts; specifically to address the growing mental health crisis and the applied use of art in a healthcare context. A special thank you to Dr Ahmed Mater who donated the work in the true spirit of compassion and solidarity. Alongside the critical funding, the initiative is also a storytelling platform for education and dialogue around the theme of art and health.
